Federal Government Backs Legal Migration for Safety, Not Just Economic Gains

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring Nigerians migrate legally, prioritising their safety alongside economic benefits.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, made this known while receiving a German delegation from the IHK Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Abuja.

The visit, facilitated by former Minister of Information Lai Mohammed, focused on legal labour migration and vocational training.

Dingyadi emphasized the government’s dedication to creating job opportunities through vocational training, ensuring that returning migrants contribute to national development.

Leder, President of the IHK Giessen-Friedberg Chamber, highlighted the importance of language skills for Nigerian migrants in Germany, noting that 98% of apprentices who complete Germany’s dual vocational training secure employment.
