The Federal Government has partnered with Sokoto, Borno, Ogun, Kogi, Imo, Zamfara, and Kwara states in the first phase of Project 774, an initiative aimed at enhancing digital connectivity across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.
Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, announced the development, emphasizing the importance of leveraging local government autonomy to ensure governance reaches grassroots citizens effectively.
Additionally, the government plans to expand the national fibre-optic network from thirty-five thousand to one hundred twenty-five thousand kilometers with a 2 billion dollars investment, aiming to improve internet access in education, healthcare, and agriculture sectors.
Minister Tijani highlighted the project’s potential to drive digital transformation, boost engagement, and unlock economic opportunities nationwide.
