Kwara Government Plans Innovations for Nutrition Programmes

The Kwara State Government has planned on innovative ideas to implement nutrition programmes across the state, stressing its commitment to citizen well-being.

The Acting Chairman, State Committee on Food and Nutrition (SCFN) who is also the State Director of Planning, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Alhaji Sarajudeen Alimi, stated this during the first quarter meeting for 2025, held at the conference room of the Ministry of Finance, Ilorin.

According to a statement released by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Falade Gbenga Tayo, Alhaji Alimi noted that the Kwara State Government is ready to attend to issues related to eradicating malnutrition.

He emphasised that the government has to adopt a multi-sectoral model to address effective nutrition programmes in the state, adding that the first quarter meeting involves training members on how to prepare an effective budget and implement nutrition programmes in their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

During the training, the Deputy Director, Budget, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Mr Matthew Ajayi, enlightened the Committee members on how to prepare an effective nutrition budget and steps to actualise the release of funds for programmes implementation.

Meanwhile, Mr Ajayi urged all the SCFN members to always work with the assigned Planning Officers of their respective Ministries to avoid mistakes in programme implementation.
