Kwara Police Refute Claims Linking Item7 Owner to Homicide Case, Warn Against Misinformation

The Kwara State Police Command has dismissed rumors suggesting that the owner of Item7, a popular local eatery, is involved in a recent homicide case.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya, he clarified that the business owner has no links to the case and condemned the spread of misinformation, calling it baseless and damaging.

According to the police, the false claim originated from Abdulwakeel Olajuwon, a 36-year-old who shared the rumor through his social media brand, Weaky TV, and he has been apprehended, set to face legal action for circulating the unverified information.

Authorities highlighted that spreading such falsehoods can harm not only the business owner’s reputation but also the livelihood of employees and the trust of customers.

Commissioner Olaiya expressed gratitude to the public for its continued trust and cooperation in sensitive cases, assuring citizens that the police are committed to bringing those involved in the homicide to justice.
