Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency Commences Vaccine Distribution, Calls for Advocacy

In commemoration of World Immunization Week, the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA) has announced the distribution of more vaccines across the state, calling on religious and cultural leaders to help advocate the power of immunization in enhancing quality of life.

Speaking during a program on Royal FM Ilorin, the Director of KSPHCDA, Dr. Michael Oguntoye, emphasized the importance of educating the public on the benefits of vaccination. He noted that collective efforts are essential in the fight against viruses.

Dr. Oguntoye highlighted the success of vaccination programs in Kwara State, attributing the progress to the support of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who has made healthcare a top priority. He further stated that new vaccines have been distributed across all 16 local government areas and 193 political wards in the state.

In her remarks, the State Social Mobilization Officer, Dr. Dupe Shittu, described immunization as one of the most effective public health interventions globally. She explained that vaccines have played a critical role in preventing numerous diseases and significantly reducing infant and child morbidity and mortality rates.
