President Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Funding Tertiary Institutions

President Bola Tinubu has revealed that his administration is committed to improving funding for Nigerian universities and other tertiary institutions.

Speaking at the 35th Convocation Ceremony of the Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo, President Tinubu, through the Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Adebayo Bamire, acknowledged the many challenges facing universities, ranging from funding shortages to infrastructure decay, staff deficits, and security threats like cultism.

He assured Nigerians that these issues are being addressed and that universities have been fully captured in the government’s funding plans to enable them to compete globally.

The President also promised that newly upgraded colleges of education would not be left behind in the government’s intervention efforts, and he encouraged graduating students to be creative, resilient, and impactful in society.
