Senate Hands Akpoti-Uduaghan Six Months Suspension

The Nigerian Senate has suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi Central Senatorial District for six months over alleged misconduct.

The decision yesterday follows her protest on February 20 against the reassignment of her seat by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, who had earlier represented her sexual harassment petition against Akpabio, called the suspension unjust and vowed to continue serving her constituents.

Her suspension includes the closure of her office, withdrawal of allowances, and restriction from Senate premises.
