
Today, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) disclosed that troops on internal operations rescued 117 hostages and arrested 150 suspected criminals within a week.
According to a statement by the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, troops’ renewed operational strategy have helped farmers to carry out farming activities unhindered.
In the North-East, troops arrested 11 terrorist collaborators, rescued five hostages, and recovered arms, ammunition, vehicles, and cash.
In the North-West, 35 terrorists were arrested and 76 hostages freed, while in the North-Central, 49 suspects were picked up and 36 hostages rescued.
Meanwhile, operations in the South-East led to the arrest of nine suspected IPOB and ESN members, while in the South-South, 33 suspected oil thieves were caught and 12 illegal refining sites destroyed.
